The doctor had told us to be prepared that he may need to do open surgery because one of the stones has lodged in the bile duct. He said it was only a slight chance, I'm not worried, she's doing fine and is ready to get it over with. Thanks Lilacs.

Hey Els....Sorry it took so long to answer you....I don't know the names of the beach's but the one I like the best is at the bottom of the Bluffs...I've been there a dozen or more times and always had great waves to body surf. Did they rebuild the stairs down to the beach? I remember one of the Hurricanes had wiped it out...I think it was in 1992 or 1993? I'd love to take Tink there someday...We went to Martha's Vinyard on our Honeymoon and she went wild....I told her then about Block Island...I promised her I'd take her.....One day....LOL...Tennessee is a long ways away!

I've been to Block Island many times. It's a very nice place to visit with alot of great restaurants and Bed & breakfast's to stay at. You can rent a bike soon as you get off the Ferry or you can bring your own. It's a small enough Island so you really do not need to bring your car, it will save you the hastle of getting on the Ferry easily rather than a waiting list to bring your car over. It's been about 10 years since I last was there, so I do not remember any names of places to eat, but there are a bunch. The Bluffs are real nice to visit, really high cliffs that overlook the ocean, great view. Alot of deer on the Island too that are pretty used to people and you can get some nice pic's. Don't forget your camera!...LOL

Day four for Jan (Zazu)
by larc ini tryed to post yesterday, but i had reached my thread limit, so here is what we have learned since thursday.. jan is diabetic.
she always feared this, since it runs in her family, and she has tried to be careful with her diet.
her younger sister was diabetic from an early age, abused herself diet wise, and sadly, she died two years ago.

Hi Larc, That's good news that she is progressing quickly towards recovery. Tink and I sent you an e-mail. Let us no where we can send a card, when you get a chance send us a quick e-mail. You'll continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Give Jan a hug from Tink and I.

Tink has been laboring over this issue for some time. We have talked about it a few times and I would like to share with you all what my advice was to her. The prospect of a wedding or family gathering is not as apt to happen soon. However, her Uncle (non witness) is very ill with dimentia and alzheimers and is in a nursing home. It is more likely that his funeral will be the first situation that will arise. I told her that if she felt she could not emotionally handle a funeral due to how she handles such stressful situations, and chooses not to attend for that reason, then thats what she should stick to. If she is more worried about her JW siblings being there and shunning her, and she really wanted to pay respect to her Uncle and be there with her non-JW siblings, then letting the JW's win out by making her stay away would not be the thing to do. This could also apply with a wedding, which may come up in the future with either her nephew or neice who are in relationships and may be getting married one day. She only has to say hello to them and move on to talk to those who do not shun her. If they choose to talk to her further, than thats a plus, and if not, then thats their lose. She will at least be doing what is in her heart and not letting them control the situation.
Tink is very worried right now about her surgery coming up early next week and is still in pain and is very uncomfortable. Her being worried and stressed about this is making her saddened about her family situation. Only her three of her brothers, who are not JW's, and non of the rest have called to find out how she is doing and to ensure her that all will go well with her surgery, even though everyone (11 in all) must know about it by now. I told her not to expect anything from them, and that they really are concerned about her, but are wrapped up in a religion that controls how they think and act towards us. I think after we talked she is feeling more confident in the future dealings with her JW sib's. Her only request was that I be there to help her through it....Weeeellll....Of course!!!
Thanks to all your comments and good advice...we'll help her get through this....=:-)>

Nick, Tinkerbell and I have just read about the tragic lose of your Dad. It was very heartwrenching and has left us both very sad for you. You were a good son and our heart and prayers go out to you and your brother. Tink and I have found this place to be a lifesaver. A month after we married in 1996 her Dad took his life while her mother, who was battling cancer was with him in their living room. Her Dad was never a witness, but her mother was. Please feel free to e-mail us anytime you wish to. If all we can do is listen to you, it is our hope that it will help you cope in some way with the greif and pain of losing your Dad. Grits has posted a loving response to you. I too feel that your Dad is being cared for in a place where he has no longer any pain and suffering. His struggles in life and wishes to serve God the best way he knew how will not go unrewarded. You can live in his honor and in his behalf and remember his life by living your own the best way you can.Tinkerbell wished to respond to your story also, but is very sick at this time and has asked me to post in her behalf. Please stay with us here and keep posting. You will find many, many great friends here who have common ground with you and can help you.
